Rapid2D - Win £10,000 with Rapid2D!

Win £10,000 with Rapid2D!

Do you need £10,000?

If so we have a competition that could provide you with just that! Rapid2D, the brand new Game Engine (which is designed specifically for developing on the Windows 8 platform) is running a competition which has a first prize of £10,000. That's a serious amount of money!

The competition involves making a number of apps for the Windows 8 Marketplace. Rapid2D is going to help you by providing 10 templates for use within the Rapid2D Game Engine to help you build high quality apps for the Windows 8 Marketplace. The first of the 10 templates is already available on the Rapid2D website.

Each entry can be an individual or teams, the competition rules and terms and conditions are the same whether you enter as an individual or a team. If entering as a team the maximum number of people allowed in any one team is 6, including the team captain. Each entry, whether the entrant is an individual or a team, must publish a minimum of 5 apps per entry in order to be entered for the prize draw and have the chance of winning the first prize of £10,000. For each game published from 6 onwards the individual or team will receive one additional entry into the prize draw (i.e. if an individual or team publishes 6 games their name will be entered into the prize draw twice, if they publish 7 games it will be entered into the prize draw three times, and so on, thereby increasing their odds of being drawn with each additional game published above the minimum number of 5).

Apart from the 10 templates that are being made available to you by Rapid2D you will also need to download the updated Rapid2D Beta V1.2 Game Engine. Please note: if you have an earlier version of the Rapid2D Game Engine it will NOT work with the templates for this competition. It is therefore essential that you download and use the updated Rapid2D Beta V1.2 Game Engine. It is not a requirement that you use Rapid2D in order to enter the competition.

When you enter the competition you will be given access to a team progress area where you can enter the names and statuses of the games as they are produced. Please note that you must self-publish every app you produce to the UK Windows 8 Store. Just entering the name and status of the game on your progress page within Rapid2D does not constitute publishing the app. You must publish every app to the UK Windows 8 Store in order for it to be considered for this competition.

The closing date for app publication to the UK Windows 8 Store is 11:59:59pm GMT on 2nd April 2013. Therefore all apps which are to be considered for the competition must be published to the UK Windows 8 Store no later than 11:59.59pm GMT on 2nd April 2013.

This is an amazing opportunity and we recommend that you start planning now, get together with others and plan:

You can enter as an individual, but obviously if you're in a team the workload can be shared.

Don't spend too much time designing games, if you are using the Rapid2D Game Engine you will also use the 10 templates, so it will be a matter of adapting each of those templates to make individual, high quality apps, if you spend loads of time thinking of ideas for games and designing games it may be that they have no bearing on the 10 templates, so grab each template as it's released via the Rapid2D website and adapt to make individual, unique, high quality apps for your entries.

Apart from the main prize of £10,000 there will be runner up prize for 2nd place of an Xbox 360 console and games bundles for each individual entrant or member of the runner up teams.

We're very excited about this competition, £10,000 is going to change lives, so please, form your teams and get ready to enter.
